It is the oldest town in Bulacan, founded on March 25, 1539 under the leadership of Gat Maitim a local chieftain, marked by the Meyto Historical Shrine where the first Catholic mass was held by Augustinian Friars, led by Fr. Diego Vicar de Ordonez in the year 1572.
